JUDGE JOAN SYNENBERG is the MENS' Forum Speaker at 9:30am on Sunday, October 9. Cuyahoga County Common Please Judge Joan Synenberg says that there is no room for politics on the bench. Her philosophy is that people are complex and that the "Law invites you to take a look at them individually." All are welcome to hear this engaging and accomplished woman.
RECYCLING, READY OR NOT: Some people are more commited to earth-friendly policies than others but everyone at UCUMC needs to be aware of a few practices in place here. The main office has blue "waste cans" which are used for recycling paper and cardboard only. A blue container between the kitchenette and Reception Room is for plastic, glass and cans only; please do not place paper or garbage in this container. Finally, you may place any unwanted portions of your worship bulletin into a tall basket at the back of the sanctuary or in the main hallway or office. Thank you for your cooperation!
ONE DAY ONLY CANDY SALE: Youth will be selling candy bars for $1 each - today only. Eat chocolate and support our youth - talk about a win/win situation!
YOUTH GROUP TRIP TO CEDAR POINT: All Middle School and High School youth are invited to join in the fun for a trip to Cedar Point on Sunday, October 16. Cost is $25. Permission slips must be turned in by Sunday, October 9th. Contact Pastor Sharon for additional details.
LADIES' LUNCH BUNCH will meet on Tuesday, September 27, at Noon in the Church Parlor. This informal group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month for a brown bag luncheon and fellowship. No reservations are necessary – just come and enjoy fun conversation and making new friends.
RESTROOM INFORMATION: The men's restroom on the main floor is still under renovation and is not available for use today. Please use the restroom between the church office and kitchenette on the main floor, or the restroom on the lower level near the gym. Refurbishing and industrial cleaning of the restroom on the mezzanine level continues. The women's restroom on the main floor next to the Parlor has a new entryway but is available for use today. Thank you for your patience!
NAMETAGS are available in a new hallway rack. Everyone is encouraged to wear a tag and introduce yourself to others. New or replacement tags can be requested by filling out a yellow card from the rack and/or stopping by the office.
DVD RECORDINGS OF THE CHALKER CELEBRATION, which took place at UCUMC on August 17, are available in the church office for $3.
MENS' LUNCHEON: All men of UCUMC are invited to gather for lunch and fellowship on Saturday, October 8, at 1:30pm. Please meet at Quaker Steak and Lube at 5935 Canal Road in Valley View, near I-480 and I-77. Please call Marvin Burge for additional information.
