RSVP: February 6th Potluck Following 11am Worship at University Circle United Methodist Church

Plan to stay following our Sunday service for this festive feast of divine dishes and devilish desserts! From "Be Mine" candies to heart-healthy entrees, there will be bowlfuls of reasons to bring your sweetheart, your family and friends to this lovely luncheon. Plus…in-between bites, you can help make Valentines to share with seniors who would love to feel some of the UCUMC love we feel for each other.

This potluck would also be a perfect opportunity to "share the love" by inviting someone who may be looking for a church home to attend worship and then dine with us.

To help us plan for you and help you plan what to bring, please fill out the all-important RSVP form and drop it in the offering plate or turn it in at the office window or email your RSVP details to hhowardATchurchinthecircle.com.

Then, mark your calendar to be sure you're a part of this time of food, fellowship and fun.

Souper Bowl Sunday at University Circle United Methodist Church

On Sunday, February 6th, the children of UCUMC will be leading a one-day food and funds drive to benefit the Cleveland Food Bank.

Canned soup is one of the "super six" most needed food items in the Cleveland Foodbank's hunger programs, so we are going to host a "SOUPER Bowl Sunday". Our ambitious goal is to collect 100 cans of soup and 100 dollars for the Cleveland Food Bank in one day. (That's one can of soup and one dollar for each yard on a football field.)

Will you join us? Bring a can (or two!) of soup to church on Sunday, February 6th. Donations of $1 will also be gratefully accepted. Thank you for supporting our kids and for helping the Cleveland Foodbank's efforts to tackle hunger on "Souper Bowl Sunday"!

An Invitation From Dr. Hallie Christian: Bible Study Class Three Women of the Old Testament

Wed. Jan 12: Eve, a new, different woman. Translation from ancient documents by women rabbis brings new insights. Neither translations are “right” or “wrong” but are different; one enhances the other. Come and let’s talk about this “first” lady.

Wed. Jan 19: Sarah, who laughed when told by a man that she was to have a baby. (She was 90.) I would too, and I’m not yet 90 years old. This is just part of an amazing life of a woman in ancient times.

Wed. Jan 26: Miriam, the sister who watched over an ark holding her baby brother. She, in addition to Moses, was celebrated as a leader crossing the Red Sea. She was the first person in the Bible named a “prophet.” There is so much more about this leader. We’ll talk about women leaders in ancient days.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays at 1:30pm at the Renaissance, 26376 John Road, Olmsted Township, just south of I-480 off exit 250 toward Olmsted Falls. I live here. I’d like to welcome you to my home. I hope you will join me. Not just women are invited but men also. Aren’t you curious about another view of these women? Please call me at 440-235-1153 so I will have enough coffee, tea, etc. for everyone.
